Policy for Home Going Services
1. BEFORE MAKING ARRANGEMENTS
In the event of a death, where services for the deceased will be held at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church (PRBC), members (or, if applicable, a family member of the deceased) are encouraged to contact Pastor Davis or the church office immediately, and prior to making arrangements.
1. SERVICES FOR MEMBERS
Funeral services will be provided for any PRBC member who is in good standing. A member in good standing is defined as an individual whose a) membership is held with PRBC, and b) has attended church services regularly, and c) has made systematic financial contributions within the last year.
III. SERVICES FOR AN IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBER OF A PRBC MEMBER
When a PRBC member is in good standing, the church will provide funeral services for an immediate family member who does not have a home church of their own. Immediate family members are limited to: spouse, child, parent, sibling, grandparent, or grandchild.
1. SERVICE INCLUSION
Services for PRBC members and their immediate family members will include:
Consultation with and guidance from the Pastor
The assistance of the church staff
Use of the church sanctuary
Program participants, including minister, deacons, deaconesses, missionaries, choir, musicians, nurses, ushers, audio/visual staff, parking and security staff
Use of the church fellowship hall
Preparation of a repast by the church culinary staff
Serve dinner at the repast
Services of the custodial staff
1. SERVICES FOR OTHERS
Members are encouraged to utilize the facilities of a local mortuary when the deceased is not a member of a church and is a relative other than as defined in Sections II and III above. Where possible, the pastor and/or church staff will share information to guide you with making arrangements.
